Our yarn tensioner has the following
features: |

Clamps to a table surface with our heavy duty 1.75" clamping system. |
Measures 6" x 2" x 3" high - the same as our Yarn Meter! |

Includes 5 tensioning dowels -5/8" diameter. This
provides optimal capability to apply as much tension as possible. |
Both ends of the tensioner include stainless steel yarn
guide loops which
give the user the option to load from a swift or other yarn source which
is located at any angle or height as compared to the tensioner. |

It is the perfect companion for use with
our Yarn Meter. It virtually eliminates all tensioning related issues
sometimes experienced with lighter weight yarns. Eliminates the need for
the user to
hold the yarn in order to apply manual tension. |
The
tensioner is also great to use between a swift and a ball winder.
Eliminates the need to hold the yarn. The tensioner both "guides"
the yarn coming off of the swift in addition to applying tension.

denim sack which was designed for our Yarn Meter. The sack can hold both
the meter and the tensioner at the same time. |
The user
can experiment any way that they like in twisting their yarn through the
maze. Or, they can run it straight through the center and use it simply
as a guide. Because of our unique crossbar design, you can mount the tensioner in any
orientation and the yarn will remain in the tensioner and not fall out! |

- Why did we develop this product?
Our yarn tensioner was developed to provide a solution for
lightweight yarns that are used with our Yarn Meter. We had
discovered during the preceding year, that threads and
lightweight yarns had the potential of causing the meter not to
properly register the length of the yarn. This was due to the
fact that the meter requires a minimum amount of TENSION to
properly record the length. These lightweight yarns could be
made to work if the user took the yarn in their hand prior to
entering the meter. This solution tended to be hit or miss. So
to resolve the problem, we developed the Yarn Tensioner which
not only solved that particular problem, but also provided a
nifty solution for swift to ball winder operations as well.
It can be used in any application in which yarn tension needs to
be controlled or yarn needs to be guided. Another highly useful
product.

Ver 2
Version 1 was replaced by the current Version 2 Tensioner in October
2007. Version 2 allows the user to remove the yarn without either having
to complete the job or breaking the yarn. It does this by means of Yarn
Guide Loops at either end of the Tensioner.
Both designs work great but Version 2 provides more flexibility.
