- Ball Handle
- New "Ergo" handle available
for all existing units shipped prior to May 2008

We have developed a
new high comfort, ergonomically correct handle for our Heavy Duty Ball
Winder. All units shipped as of May 2008 include this new handle.
This new handle has a
large 2" diameter wooden ball on the end which allows the user to grasp
the handle at virtually any angle.

With the original
handle, you could not easily sit in front of the ball winder
without turning your wrist at an angle. Our new ergonomic Ball Handle
can be comfortably used at any angle.
The ball rotates on
its shaft which allows the user to firmly or lightly hold the ball
handle while cranking. It is a real pleasure to use and makes our Heavy
Duty Ball Winder even more ergonomic than it already was.
Because the turning
arc of our handle is wide (unlike the small handles on all of the
plastic units in the market), the user will not experience wrist related
aches and pains with our unit because they use their forearm instead of
their wrist to rotate our handle. The forearm is much stronger than is
the wrist especially with highly repetitive motions.
Note:
We have made 2 styles of Ball Winders. One has a 3/8" diameter handle
shaft and one has a 10 mm handle shaft. Typically, if the Plastic
Connector on the handle is White, then it is probably a 10 mm shaft. If
it is Black or wood, then it is 3/8" diameter.
How to verify shaft
diameter? We have
bored a small dimple in the side of the plastic connector to designate
that it is a 10 mm shaft. Look for a small dimple or shallow hole in the
side of the plastic connector on the handle (do not confuse with the
hole that contains the set screw which is a separator hole). If it has
the small dimple, then it is 10 mm. Be sure to select the
proper shaft size when ordering or your new handle will not fit
properly.
